FAQs

How do I register?  The website says registration is not open.

Registration for guests, volunteers and buddies will be available Friday, August 2nd through Monday, September 2nd.  Once registration is full it will be closed for the 2024 event and we will not be able to accept any additional guests or volunteers.

Why do I need to register to volunteer?

Volunteers are randomly background checked and run through the sex offender database.  This is for the safety of our guests.  All volunteers must register and provide ID to enter the event.  If you are a minor you will not need an ID.

Can I attend The Great Banquet with my son or daughter who is a guest?

Yes, but everyone attending MUST register.  To attend with a son or daughter you MUST register as a Buddy Volunteer.  The Buddy Volunteer registration can be found under the Get Involved section of our website during the open registration period.

When is the formal attire giveaway?

The formal attire giveaway sponsorship and date has not been set yet for The 2024 Great Banquet.

Do I need to register for the formal attire giveaway?

It is highly encouraged that you use the link on our website to register for this event.  This is to help us ensure your size is available!  Registration will be available once event details have been finalized.

Will there be a gluten free food option for guests?

Yes, please indicate this on your registration.  Gluten free guests will be served gluten free nuggets purchased from Sam's Club, fruit from Chick-fil-A and chips.

Is this event the same as Tim Tebow's "A Night to Shine"?

The events are similar, but we are not associated with Tim Tebow's Foundation.

Is this a Crossroads event?

Crossroads is a generous sponsor for our event, providing the use of its facility to host our event.  We are a separate non-profit fully supported by event sponsors and generous donors.  The non-profit responsible for the financing of The Great Banquet is Kingdom Inclusion, www.kingdominclusion.com.

When will I receive information regarding my assigned volunteer team?

You will receive an email from info@greatbanquetcincinnati.com by Wednesday, September 4th.  If you do not hear from us please first check your spam and junk mail then email us.  Make sure to include our email in your contact list so that you can receive all event communication from us.

Why was I not assigned to my first choice volunteer role?

Volunteer roles are filled on a first come first serve basis.  Once volunteer roles are filled we place volunteers according to their second and third choices.  Those volunteers signing up in the final days of registration may be limited on serving opportunities.  The most needed volunteer roles are party crowd and buddies.

What is the party crowd?

The party crowd is one of our most critical volunteer roles to make this night a success.  Volunteers in the party crowd will stand on the red carpet and cheer as our guests are recognized by name as they walk the red carpet.  These volunteers are the welcoming committee for our guests.  Volunteers in this role will be standing over an hour in this role.  Our party crowd team lead will give small groups of volunteers periodic breaks as we understand you’ll get tired!  We just want to make sure that carpet is full as our guests walk in and have their pictures taken on the red carpet.

After the red carpet walk you will serve as the hype crowd, dancing with our guests and cheering them on during the talent show.

I haven't received any emails from you.

Please add our email to your contact list, info@greatbanquetcincinnati.com and double check your spam and junk email.  We will be emailing you a week after registration closes with guest and volunteer details.

I left something at the Great Banquet.  How can I get this back?

Items found at the event are placed in the lost and found at the hosting venue.  Please visit or call the host venue to confirm whether or not your item was found. You can also email us at info@greatbanquetcincinnati.com and we will work with the host site to return any lost items found.

Do I need to attend the Buddy training if I’m a parent or caregiver of a guest?

No, you may arrive at the same time as your guest.

Can I register late?

No, unfortunately we need guests and volunteers to register in the registration window allotted.  This allows our registration team time to prepare for the number of guests and check volunteers against the sex offender database.  All guest and volunteer catering is finalized and ordered once the registration window closes.

What is the cost to attend The Great Banquet?

The Great Banquet is completely free to our guests and volunteers.

How old do you have to be to volunteer?

Students as young as 11 may volunteer without an adult.  Students age 7 - 10 can serve with an adult.  One student per adult, unless you are serving in the party crowd.  Below are the age restrictions for volunteer roles.

  • Age 11-15 may serve without an adult (party crowd only)

  • Age 8-15 may serve with an adult (all volunteer roles except medical, security and food prep)

What are the requirements to serve on the security team?

To serve as a security volunteer you MUST be trained and currently serving on a Crossroads security team.  The Great Banquet will follow Crossroads security protocol.
